Reasons for picking this hotel: Flying back from the USA, I had a 4 day stopover in Tokyo before heading onwards to Vietnam. This was also the perfect time to use up my annual $300 Capital One Venture X travel credit as usually I don’t stay in international hotel chains in Tokyo when I’m traveling solo. There is so much to see and do, I just need a small clean room to sleep at the end of the day.
Transportation / Access:
The hotel was easy to access, and is close to both the Akasaka-mitsuke and Akasaka metro stations. Since I was arriving into Haneda I took the Keikyu line to Shimbashi station, then transferred to the Ginza line to Akasaka-mitsuke station and got to the hotel in under 45 minutes for 620yen.
Room summary:
The room was a small but functional typical Japanese business-hotel layout. No closets, three coat hangers against the wall. There was some space at the foot of the bed to put a suitcase. A TV and humidifier (always important during the winter months in Japan) were also at the foot of the bed. The comfortable double bed had a set of pajamas waiting for me as well as convenient climate controls, and 110V power plugs at the head of the bed.
A small table with stationery, charging cables, hair-dryer, slippers, alarm clock, tea kettle, and mini-fridge completed the room.
The bathroom was a standard modular Japanese restroom, with the shower and sink sharing the same faucet controls to save space. A Toto washlet toilet was in the bathroom.
Lohas branded shampoo, conditioner and body soap were provided in pump bottles. Toiletries were available free of charge from the lobby.
The hotel public areas were quite nice with both indoor / outdoor areas to enjoy some complimentary coffee/tea and relax. In addition, alcohol and soft drinks were available for free from 18:00 – 20:00.
Laundry was a very reasonable 100yen per wash and the dryer was free!
Final thoughts
Very efficient and nice business hotel in the Akasaka district. The common area amenities were beyond expectation here!
